OrgSync: To-Do Lists

Happy Spring Break!!!

To-Do List for Post

There’s plenty more OrgSync lessons to come, but here’s a quick one to get you through Spring Break.

If your friends are all on vacation, but you’re determined to get your organization on task and ready to finish the semester strong, this post is for you! We’re going to discuss OrgSync To-Do Lists and how your organization can utilize them to their fullest potential. Start off by logging into OrgSync, then follow along!

OrgSync Log-In

  1. using Firefox (works the best for OrgSync)
  2. Choose ‘Log-In’ from the top right hand corner
  3. Select ‘Tarleton State University’ as the Community
  4. Use your NTNET (st_ and password) to complete the log-in

To-Do Lists

To-Do Lists are pretty stinking awesome, in case you didn’t know. It’s probably one of the best features for organizations that have annual events. To-do lists give you the ability to create lists that members can not only access, but check the tasks off of. Tasks can be added to the list then assigned to a particular member or members. You can comment on tasks, re-order the list, and have the completed tasks drop to the bottom of this list.

Once the event is over (or when it’s starting the following year) you can “copy” the list in its entirety and re-assign jobs to other members.

Student Activities uses this tool for things like the Halloween Carnival. We host it every year, and every year we need tickets, candy, giveaways, music, check-in sheets, and a million other things. Officers sometimes change every year…how are we supposed to keep up? With the to-do list feature it’s all in one spot. No more messy binders or questions on what someone’s handwriting means.

To create a To-Do List, follow these steps:

  1. Click on “To-Do Lists”
  2. Select “Create a List”
  3. Type the title of the list and select the availability options, hit “Submit”
  4. Your list is created! Now select “Add a Task”
  5. Type the name of the task, select the due date/time, priority level, and assign a member (if you choose)
  6. Boom. You’ve just created your first to-do list!

Remember, once a task is done the member assigned can select the box to the left and it “checks” it and puts a line through it. That’s how you know the task has been completed.

Kelli is on vacation this week (that lucky ducky), but she’ll be back next week to answer all the OrgSync questions you have. If you need anything in the meantime, you can contact Monica or Kristi at 254.968.9256.

Have a super safe (but GREAT) spring break!
