Relief Efforts for West, Texas
Hello, Tarleton Family!
As you all probably know, there was a serious explosion at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas last night. If you’d like to read an article about it, you can check any national news source (like CNN) or even local news sources (like WFAA).
Several individuals and student organizations on the Tarleton campus have shown an interest in assisting the victims from the fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas. That being said, all donations are being coordinated through the Office of Student Activities in the Thompson Student Center.
If you are passionate to help, please drop off your donations to the Thompson Student Center today (Thursday) from 9:00 am -10:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am-12 noon. Items will be transported to the West/Waco area Friday afternoon.
Donations items needed include: clothing, personal hygiene items, blankets, pillows, baby clothes and diapers, and bottled water. Monetary donations are equally important. All monetary donations will be sent to the American Red Cross.
Please drop your donations at the information desk in the Thompson Student Center.
We have also had several inquiries about Blood Donation. Here are donation sites around the area over the next few days. We recommend you visit the Carter Blood Care carterbloodcare.org or the American Red Cross http://www.redcrossblood.org/ site for more information.
You can also text “Red Cross” to 90999 on your phone to instantly donate $10 to the Red Cross.
